As an artist working on creating and reach one thing that comes to mind is distribution. Places like TuneCore & CD Baby help artist to sell their music online and platforms like SoundCloud help artist get herd. Now, I personally have an album and a few singles on Spotify and other platforms, but I did not have all my music on this big platforms. Combination of budgeting and other things, I wondered what other ways that artist like myself can get music on these platforms in another way.
I started my own Podcast a few months back and recently started using Anchor after Gary VayNerChuk mentioned it a few times. It is very simple to use and I received emails from them letting me know what podcast platforms mine was published on. I moved to Anchor after reaching my free limit on SoundCloud and I even put one episode on Bandcamp. The act of putting a podcast on a music distribution platform fascinated me.
Then I received this email from Anchor:
A lightbulb moment happened. Holy moly my podcast is distributed on places like Spotify and Itunes for free.
This made me think, I could add any type of audio on Anchor and it would be placed on these platforms for free?
So I thought, what if I upload a song or an album? The results?
Four of my albums uploaded through Anchor are now on Spotify, Itunes and more for FREE!
I wouldn’t suggest this as your ONLY way of distribution because through CdBaby & TuneCore you get paid for your streams, but, this is an interesting way to reach listeners the same way you listen to full albums on Youtube.
Hope this helps!

San Antonio is booming with creativity from all sides of the spectrum.
I wanted a way to be able to showcase that talent while funneling my adventures and ideas into a gathering of creatives. “The Composition” is just that. Showcasing musical acts, live painting, local creators, short film screenings, and an open mic, May 29th debuted what started as an open mic at the historic Tucker’s Kozy Korner, and turned into a Multi-Medium art collective at Brick at Blue Star Arts Complex.
My friend Kinyo and I have been doing our Expansion Tour for a few months now and we finally expanded out to Japan. We arrived in Japan midday Saturday, April 7th at the Narita International Airport. We made it. After an 11-hour flight overseas, we navigate through the airport, exchanged currency, I got a pack of smokes, Kinyo grabbed a drink from the famous Japan vending machines, and headed to the subway to take a train to Saitama, where we enjoyed the night at our super inexpensive AirBnB. We woke up ready to explore. We wanted to not get to carried away and head straight to Tokyo, so instead, we stayed in Saitama, visiting Kasukabe and Omiya.
Since the earliest introduction of a habitable building by Phillip C. Clark, shipping containers have evolved into a worldwide phenomenon for their conversion into homes, studios, and office spaces. I’ve been fascinated with the concept for a few years now and researched numerous ways of using shipping containers for the perfect affordable home. I was ecstatic to find out from my friend Rabbit, that she was working with a company that is bringing shipping container homes to our San Antonio, Texas east side.
That company is Done and Done Property Solutions or TeamDDPS for short. They started out as a company that found creative ways to save people’s properties during bank foreclosure. Quickly becoming one of the top real estate consulting companies in the country, TeamDDPS now have the opportunity to become one of the premier container home builders in the country.
March 30th, they held an unveiling of their Insta Lounge container unit at Tony G’s Soul Food restaurant, as well as gave a shipping container home away to an east side family.
I feel like this will be a major improvement for the east side, where creativity is abundant but easily drained by unfavorable circumstances.
Many talented artists, including Rabbit, helped paint the container home as well as live performances for the event.

The many ideas that run through my head when I see shipping containers are endless. I personally can’t wait to have one of my own. These units appeal to all walks of life and I’m curious to see the positive impact they will have on the city.

Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
When I was younger, one of the things I wanted to do was go on road trips during spring break and the summer. Though I didn’t go on a road trip during high school, I’ve managed to still accomplish that dream as a traveling musician and writer. Like with many things in life, traveling can better with friends or a loved one. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good solo journey, but some of my favorite moments have been traveling with others. Writing this in a Starbucks in El Paso, Texas on the way to Japan, I realized, many of friends are traveling as well!
Take a look below and catch them live if they’re in a city near you!
